Finally - a sustain block for the Gotoh GE-1996T Floyd Rose licensed tremolo made from cold rolled steel.
These are designed to fit the Gotoh trem , but the spacing is also ideal to fit the Ibanez Edge and Lo-Pro edge and any other that features a 16.3mm mounting screw spacing
We make these in the standard 8mm thick and also the 12.7mm FAT block
We make them in the same 3 depths that Gotoh use 33mm , 36mm and 40mm
It is likely that the Ibanez edge will always only want to use the 33mm one, but measure first to be sure.
They don't feature the tapped and countersunk holes for locking in the springs though or for attaching the retainer bar that was used on some Jem guitars but this is never usually an issue with floyd rose blocks
The background to our steel blocks
Having experimented with many older Floyd Rose vibrato units and discovered that some of the earlier ones had blocks made of steel and that these bridges had a different sound with a tight defined bass and a controlled fatness and a keen treble edge, it led us to have some blocks made from Cold Rolled Steel>
These weighed about 50% more than the original brass blocks they are designed to replace
We feel it is a superior sound , almost removing the deficiencies that a normal floyd has in it's affects on your guitars frequency response, sounding closer to a hardtail bridge to my ear.
